PHD is committed to delivering sustainable development and encourages innovation and efficiency in building methods and materials on new build projects. As a lead member of the Modern Methods of Construction North West (MMCNW) group, we are working towards improved procedures within development procurement and on site processes. Our ambition is to reduce waste and to lower the cost of development.
We work with specific manufacturers, using an advanced form of pre–fabricated closed panel timber frame construction. Our design and performance standards define the methods by which we require our schemes to reach targets set within the Code for Sustainable Homes along with the Housing Corporation Design Standards.
This ensures that the most energy–efficient and sustainable options are always used and that first priorities will always be the most sustainable. In addition, our schemes are built to lifetime homes standard.
PHD operates and manages a joint procurement framework, which is compliant with the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) regulations and includes access to PHD’s high quality Design and Performance standards for all our partners. Looking to the future, we aim to establish a joint procurement process to further gain efficiencies and improve standards.
